To Complete Your Financial Aid Loan Application
- Print the USN Loan Request Statement(s) for your program, complete, and submit them to the Financial Aid Office.
- Go to the lender’s website to complete the Master Promissory Notes, the Grad PLUS application, and/or private loan applications. The lenders' websites are included in the Lenders List.
- Apply for a Private Student Loan by going directly to the lender’s website and filling out their application.
- If this is your first loan at USN, you MUST complete the Master Promissory Note for your lender. If this loan is not your first loan at USN and you chose the same federal loan lender, you do not have to sign a new Master Promissory Note.
- Our Lenders List is only a suggestion. You are entitled to choose any lender you would like whether or not they are on the Lenders List. Simply put their name and Lender Code Number on the USN Loan Request Statement and complete the Master Promissory Note with that lender. Please contact the Financial Aid Office for any further questions.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When will my loan be disbursed?
Your loan(s) is scheduled to be disbursed to the Bursar's Office in installments, one at the start of the program and one at the mid-point in the program. The disbursment dates correspond to the payment due dates set by the Registrar and the Bursar's Office.
Will my loan be received in time to pay my tuition?
Fund disbursement on the tuition due date depends on you. If you complete the applications and the Promissory Notes on or before the recommended deadline (4 weeks before start of program), funds will be disbursed on the tuition due date.
When can I receive the refund of my financial aid?
Lenders will electronically deliver funds on the due dates to USN’s Bursar for completed and approved loans. The Bursar will apply the funds to students’ account and process refund checks to the students for excess funds. The Bursar will disburse refund checks to students in three (3) days from the date funds were received.
