Jack Zimmerman MBA, PhD
Mr. Zimmerman holds a bachelor of business administration from Ohio University, majoring in management, and a masters in business administration from Xavier University (Cincinnati, Ohio) majoring in international finance. Mr. Zimmerman is currently pursuing a doctorate in Organizational Leadership with a specialization in entrepreneurial finance at Pepperdine University, with graduation planned for July, 2006.
His professional career includes senior management positions with General Electric Company, where he was a graduate of the Financial Management and General Management Development Programs, and Caterpillar Tractor Company where he was Corporate Controller for their Solar Turbines International Division, a $400 million autonomous subsidiary which designs, manufactures, and supports industrial gas turbine engines for power generation for the international market.
In 1984 he joined Intel Corporation where he held a number of senior financial positions such as director of finance and administration for Asia, based in Tokyo, Japan, and controller for the semiconductor products group. In 1992 he became chief financial officer for Level One Communications, a start up company which completed initial and secondary public offerings, and where he assembled a successful finance and administrative staff and completed several strategic transactions and acquisitions. Later, Level One was acquired by Intel.
Mr. Zimmerman has taught MBA courses in corporate finance, strategic finance, mergers and acquisitions, risk management and entrepreneurial finance as an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management.
Currently Mr. Zimmerman has his own consulting and venture capital business serving high technology public and private companies, serves as a senior policy fellow at his undergraduate alma mater.
In addition to General Electric’s Financial Management Training Program and General Manager Development Program, Mr. Zimmerman has attended the Center for Creative Leadership, Behavioral Interviewing Program, Negotiating for Success Training, and Intel’s Senior Manager Development Program. He is actively involved with Food on Foot, a program which feeds the homeless.
Mr. Zimmerman has extensive experience in managing and leading complex organizations, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, international issues, entrepreneurial finance and management, raising capital, and leading in a team oriented environment to build consensus and solve organizational goals.
Mr. Zimmerman enjoys his family, bicycling and swimming and has completed 12 triathlons. He is an avid sailor and recently acquired an open ocean sailboat.
