Laurie Briggs is the Administrative Assistant to the Assistant Dean of Admissions and Student Affairs at the College of Pharmacy. She was born in San Francisco, California and raised in the Bay Area. Laurie attended San Francisco State University and Brigham Young University – Provo where she earned a BA in English Literature.

Laurie has worked as an administrative assistant for the Bank of Canton of San Francisco, for the United States Postal Service – Western Regional Headquarters, and also for the Legal Resource Department of Genentech, Inc., a pharmaceutical, biotechnology research company known for the development of Human Growth Hormone products. Before joining the staff at the University of Southern Nevada in March, 2005, she worked as an administrative assistant in the legal community of Las Vegas, including two years at the State Bar of Nevada in the Ethics/Discipline department.

From 1986 to 1988 Laurie was a volunteer living in Costa Rica and Panama, Central America. Laurie and her husband, Terry, moved to Las Vegas in 1995 and currently reside in Northwest Las Vegas with their two cats, Heathcliff and Sebastian. In her spare time, she teaches private piano lessons to students whose ages have ranged from 4 to 70.
