Kathleen is a recent new Nevada resident relocating from Florida. She is an Assistant Professor of Nursing. Kathleen received her Diploma in Nursing in Massachusetts before entering the US Navy as an RN. She returned to Massachusettts where she started her 17 years of intensive care experiances. Kathleen recieved her BSN from Cal State Los Angeles in 1984 and her MSN at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 1990.

Kathleen's academic career began in 1987 in a diploma school in St Louis moving on to Florida State University in 1990. With multiple moves around the US, she also has taught in Utah and Florida most recently at Valencia Community College in Orlando. During her academic career, Kathleen has taught in all levels of Nursing at the undergraduate level. She has also been instumental in writing curriculum for new programs and coordinating levels for both clinical and theory.

Clinial experiance for Ms. Powell have been as an ICU nurse, case manager, transplant nurse and case manager and utilization review nurse for a major insurance company.
