Rebecca Cailor RN, MSN, FNP-C
Assistant Professor of Nursing

Rebecca received her undergraduate degree in nursing in Springfield, Missouri at SMSU. Her graduate Master’s Degree of Nursing was done in 2000 at Long Beach California State University, as a combination program for Nurse Practitioner in Family Medicine. She is Board Certified in Family Medicine. She did her internship in Watts and Lynwood, California, post-graduate where she made subacute and hospital rounds for physicians. After her one year post-graduate internship, Rebecca worked for the John Wayne Cancer Institute in Santa Monica where she made hospital rounds on their melanoma, bio-chemo, and cancer patients. She had hospital privileges at St. John’s Hospital and Health Center. Her duties included protocol formation for Stage III lung cancer and colon cancer drugs, as well as following the patients in the outpatient clinic Monday through Friday. She left the John Wayne Cancer Institute to join her husband in Las Vegas.

Rebecca has worked in her capacity as a Family Nurse Practitioner for Dr. Pejman Bady for the past 5 years, both in his VAX-D Spine Pain Institute, and in the Advanced Medical Center, Urgent Care Center in Pahrump.  She continues to expand her skills in this arena. Her research interests in the past three years included outcomes of Vertebral Axial Decompression in combination with epidurals as pain management on herniated discs, and other functional studies. Rebecca’s past nursing experience included fifteen years of hospital nursing in Cardiac Care, ICU, and Medical Surgical nursing. She also managed a private ventilator unit in Brotman Hospital. Her teaching experience began as a corporate regional education director in acute hospitals. She remains a CME provider in both California and Nevada.

 

In the College of Nursing Program, she teaches Health Assessment, Adult Health II, and Community Health. Rebecca is the Faculty Advisor for the Nursing Class of 2007. She also serves on the Institutional Review Board for the University of Southern Nevada.
