Jackie Seip BA
Executive Assistant to the President

Jackie was born, raised and educated in Bronx, New York and has an extensive background in the legal and academic arenas. She earned her BA degree in Psychology and English from the College of New Rochelle and attended St. John’s Law School. Since moving to Las Vegas, she has been involved in several community organizations. She is an advocate and supporter for the CASA Program (Court Appointed Special Advocate). She is currently CEO of Seniors United, an educational organization for seniors in Nevada. She received a Proclamation from the Board of Commissioners of Clark County for her work on the First Adoption Fair held in the State of Nevada and received the Community Services Award from the Division of Child and Family Services on behalf of the Foster Parents Association. Jackie was appointed to the Senior Citizen Law Project Advisory Board in 2002. One of her proudest moments was when she received a Congressional Recognition from Congresswoman Shelley Berkley in 2000 for outstanding and valuable service to the community.

Since joining the University of Southern Nevada (formerly the Nevada College of Pharmacy) as the Executive Assistant to the President, she has been involved in all of the high-level administrative affairs of the college. She emulated the pioneering spirit needed to build an academic institution from the ground floor. Jackie was very instrumental in organizing the fund raising activities that included the Annual Golf Tournament and Scholarship Fundraising Gala. She enjoys interacting with the students and was instrumental in chartering the Kappa Psi Chapter, Delta Tau, in January 2003. Jackie was made an Honorary Member of the fraternity (the first ever) and received the Kappa Psi Recognition Pin for outstanding contributions in the development of the chapter (an award rarely given, and never before to an honorary member). She is the epitome of never say no and can do attitude to anyone who needs help to get something done for a worthy or noble cause, e.g., student, faculty or any Nevadan.

Finally, she loves to cook and travel. Her husband and two dogs, Pebbles and Bam-bam keep her quite busy and her daughter Debra is the light of her life. Her favorite pastime is reading and she enjoys the theater and trips back to New York City. Her dream is to have more time to volunteer since helping others gives her great gratification.
