Barbara Raymond-Hicks RN, MSN, FNP
Barbara received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Phoenix in San Diego California. She received her Masters of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner Focus from the University of Phoenix in Fountain Valley California in 2000. She completed her internship in San Diego, Riverside and Lynwood Ca.
Barbara worked for 2 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Riverside Regional County Hospital in Obstetrics, Family Planning and Pediatrics clinic 2001-2003. She relocated to Las Vegas working as a Labor and Delivery Nurse at Sunrise and UMC before she started teaching at CCSN.
Barbara has an extensive background of teaching nursing students in Southern Nevada, having taught Maternal-Child, Peds, Medsurg and Preceptorship at the Community College of Southern Nevada. In addition, Barbara has worked as clinical faculty in Obstetrics and Pediatrics at University of Nevada Las Vegas.
Barbara is a gifted lecturer. She has lectured on OB Emergency at the University Medical Center Maternal Staff. She has also taught maternal child to the new graduate nurse in theObstetrics program at UMC.
Barbara has an extensive clinical background, which include 26 years in Labor and delivery and 5 years as Home Health Administrator, Director, and Director of Special projects in San Diego California.
Barbara’s primary teaching responsibilities at the University of Southern Nevada are Maternal-Child Nursing and Nursing Theory, Practice and Issues.
