Mark Decerbo PharmD, BCPS
Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice

Dr. Decerbo received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Bouvé College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Northeastern University in Boston, MA where he graduated magna cum laude as an inductee of both the Rho Chi Academic Pharmacy Honor Society and the Academic Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. He went on to complete an ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. Following completion of his residency, he received a full faculty appointment at the University of Southern Nevada in the College of Pharmacy as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice. Currently, he both teaches and serves as block coordinator in the second-year infectious disease, neurology, and gastroenterology pharmacotherapeutic blocks, and lectures in the endocrinology block as well. Additionally, he serves as Faculty Advisor to the student chapter of the American Pharmacists Association, is a member of the Faculty Recruitment Committee, the Student Recognition and Awards Committee, and the Promotion and 5-year Contract Committee, and chairs the Student Professionalism Board. Dr. Decerbo provides clinical pharmacy services at the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada (UMC) where he rounds with Internal Medicine teams from the University of Nevada School of Medicine, and precepts both pharmacy students and pharmacy practice residents. His research interests include infectious disease and anti-epileptic drug monitoring. Dr. Decerbo is credentialed by BPS as a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) and belongs to the internal medicine and infectious disease practice research networks of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) where he is a full member. Dr. Decerbo maintains an appointment of Adjunct Assistant Professor in the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Touro University, and maintains an active membership in the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) and the American Pharmacists Assocation (APhA). He has recently been appointed as the University of Southern Nevada’s delegate to the 2010 United States Pharmacopeial (USP) Convention in Washington D.C.
