Marlene Miller
Marlene R. Miller comes to us from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. Hired by Western in 1981 in the HR Department, Ms. Miller held the position of Executive Director of Facilities and Human Resources, eventually leading to her promotion in (1998) as the first woman Vice President in Western’s history. Her service to Western University spanned over 20 years.
Serving in her dual role as the Vice President of Human Resources and Facilities Management, Ms. Miller was the Chief Human Resources Officer and at the same time managed the Facilities and Security Departments, numbering over 30 staff positions. Western had over 300 employees, almost 2,000 Health Professions Students and a campus of over 15 acres, with two off-site clinical facilities and a number of income producing properties including two avocado groves encompassing over 20 acres.
During her tenure at Western University, she provided the oversight for the construction and renovation of the Health Sciences Center (71,000 square feet) and the Health Professions Center (130,000 square feet). Her last project was the creation and building of a new 30,000 sq. ft. Learning Resource Center.
Ms. Miller has been married over 25 years to her husband Vaughn, and she has five Yorkshire Terriers to complete her family.
