What are the admissions requirements and processes?

  • Submit an application with $100 application fee.
  • Students must have completed a baccalaureate degree or higher from an accredited university. (USN PharmD/MBA joint program applicants who have advanced undergraduate standing are encouraged to apply).
  • Applicants must submit official transcripts of all college level work. (The transcripts must be sent directly from the colleges or universities you attended directly to the University of Southern Nevada). International students and students who have non-U.S. course work must have their transcripts submitted to World Education Service (WES: www.wes.org) for evaluations.
  • An original essay submitted with the application.
  • The Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or any other graduate admission tests are optional. However, students who have taken such test are encouraged to submit such results. The University of Southern Nevada’s GMAT reporting code number is 4463.
  • There are no specific prerequisite course requirements. However, prior work experience is highly desirable.
  • Applicants whose language of instruction was not English must submit TOEFL scores and only original TOEFL documents will be accepted. Minimum TOEFL score requirement: 550 (paper-based test); 213 (computer-based test); and 79 (internet-based test). The University's code is 4463.

Applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible because class size is limited.

The Admissions Committee reviews applications as they are received and looks for an indication of qualities that suggest successful program completion. Such qualities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Strong communication skills,
  2. Success in prior college courses,
  3. Evidence of leadership potential,
  4. Intellectual ability,
  5. Maturity, and
  6. Motivation to succeed.

Students seeking the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) /MBA joint degree may be accepted into the program prior to receiving the PharmD degree. However, PharmD students who have no prior baccalaureate (or higher) degree must receive their PharmD degree and complete the MBA degree requirements before the MBA degree can be awarded.

PharmD students with a baccalaureate or higher degree can earn the MBA degree upon completion of the MBA requirements even if they have not received the PharmD degree.

When a student is accepted into the program, he or she will need to pay a non-refundable deposit of $100.00 to hold a place in the program. This $100.00 will be applied toward tuition.
