A Message from the Dean

Thank you for your interest in the College of Nursing at the University of Southern Nevada. Nursing is a profession filled with opportunities and rewards. Registered nurses are in great demand and have many career options. Nursing is a profession with virtually no boundaries.

The College of Nursing offers an 18-month program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. The mission of the College of Nursing is to provide a quality and innovative education to meet the diverse health needs of our society. As a student, you will fulfill this mission through your theoretical and clinical experiences. Administrators, faculty, and staff will work with you in many ways to help you achieve your goals.

After graduation, students sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) and upon successful completion are able to assume entry level positions in a variety of health care environments.

Nurses make a difference in the lives of those with whom they interact and provide care. From collaborating with other members of the health care team to providing hands-on care to clients, nurses demonstrate integrity, compassion, humanity and professionalism.

On behalf of the administrators, faculty, staff, and students, we are excited that you are considering the College of Nursing to further your career goals. Please contact us if you have questions or require additional information.

Your future in Nursing starts here!

Sincerely,
Mable Smith, RN, JD, PhD
