Thank you to those of you who are helping make our Continuing Education (CE) program a success. We are getting to know a few of you better which means that you are coming back for more education! As we are starting the next academic year, we will continue to grow to meet the needs of the pharmacists in Nevada and Utah. I wanted to take a moment to tell you why we believe we are different from all of the continuing education that's already out there, what we've accomplished and what we're working on for the future. 

One of the things that makes USN stand out from other programs is the way we select the content for our programs. The policies from ACPE regarding commercial support of continuing education changed recently, and the University of Southern Nevada was in compliance with these standards well before they were released. We will never select topics based on interests from the pharmaceutical industry. We also will never let industry influence the choice of speaker or the content of our programs. At USN we review materials carefully for information that is commercially influenced or not well balanced. With program faculty who are some of the most experienced educators around, who emphasize practical applications and share real-world experiences, we make sure that you are always learning and receiving feedback on what you have learned.

We still receive requests for online learning which will hopefully be implemented soon. We will also be inviting other health care professionals to our programs so that we can cross-train, learn, and share information to benefit the global health care community. Our partnership with the Nevada Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists for the provision of accredited continuing education in Northern and Southern Nevada is an exciting collaboration. 

One other great new benefit is online registration for all of our programs. You can provide your credit card information securely (credit card information is not stored, so there is no need to worry about data security), and you will receive a confirmation as well as reminders via e-mail. Plus after you register the first time, you will never have to provide your contact information again, as long as you use the same e-mail address.
