The Director of Clinical Business Services is a supervisor position reporting directly to the Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and Patient Care.  The primary responsibilities include monitoring accounts receivable and establishing policies and procedures to maximize revenue collection.  This position works closely with the clinical business office staff  and the university business and finance office to oversee the day to day financial activities of the Clinical Business Services to ensure the best possible clinic experience for students and patients. This person also works closely with the Director of Clinical Operations to monitor and enforce university policies as they relate to the clinic operation. Working together, this position and the Director of Clinical Operations will foster partnerships with other Clinic Affairs staff and quickly resolve patient and student issues pertaining to the clinic. The Director of Clinical Business Services will exchange information on a regular basis with the clinical practice team staff, clinical faculty and Clinical Affairs staff to ensure that the clinics operate in a manner that is consistent with contemporary business practices.

1)      Must be knowledgeable with the utilization of technology, supervision, management, accounting and budgeting practices and techniques.

2)      Knowledge of dental education procedures relating to student/patient clinical experience.

3)      Must be familiar with healthcare information systems, dental insurance and Medicaid policies and procedures, HMO capitation reporting policies and procedures, CDT coding, budget analysis, state and federal healthcare regulations, supervision, and management.

4)      Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, administrative skills, customer-service skills, experience working with students, preparation of operational and special budgets, interpretation of statistical, financial and management planning relating to clinical revenue, coordination of internal and external audits both financial and patient documentation.

5)      Must demonstrate good judgment, commitment to teamwork, ability to analyze fiscal data to identify and correct errors, ability to provide reliable and accurate financial information,

6)      Must be able to mentor and develop staff and must maintain confidential staff/patient information.

 

Manage Patient Accounts Receivable

  • communicate with Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and Patient Care to identify areas of concern as to revenue collection
  • monitor receipt and accurate posting of patient payments
  • monitor receipt and accurate posting of insurance and Medicaid payments
  • review trial balance sheet and daily variance reports daily to identify areas of concern
  • monitor accurate posting of patient adjustment slips
  • monitor A/R weekly/monthly as needed

 

Oversee Clinical Business Services Work Flow

  • monitor timely submission of insurance claims
  • monitor the process for requesting necessary insurance documents from students
  • monthly review and follow-up of payment plans for all school programs
  • monthly review and follow-up of collection accounts of all school programs
  • monitor cost of treatments not yet approved by faculty
  • establish and monitor clearance process of graduating students as it relates to patient balances

Staff Supervision

  • supervise activities of cashiers
  • supervise patient business office staff

 

Management

  • resolve situations concerning patients’ accounts
  • respond to inquiries from patients, students, faculty and staff regarding policies and procedures
  • enforce university policies as they relate to clinic services
  • complete student violation forms for noncompliance with clinic policies
  • develop and communicate financial policies and procedures for dental school
  • review and recommend dental school insurance contracts

 

Supervision/Administrative

  • create individual performance plans for clinical business office staff
  • complete HR paperwork as appropriate for staff
  • conduct interviews for filling vacancies within the business office
  • provide constructive feedback on performance of staff
  • complete regular employee performance evaluations

 

Internal Auditing

·         perform and evaluate internal audit of clinic information system

 

Special Projects

·         Development and Implementation of financial module of the electronic dental record.

Dental Equipment Technician

Roseman University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine (Roseman CODM), South Jordan, UT is seeking applicants for a full timeDental Equipment Technician.

Roseman University of Health Sciences Research Center is seeking a Postdoc in the areas of molecular pharmacology, cell biology and molecular biology to work on projects related to identifying novel cell signaling pathways (especially novel protein kinases and protein phosphorylation sites) involved in the pathology of diabetes, obesity and Alzheimer’s disease.
 
The Postdoc will be performing experimental procedures, analyzing data, maintaining records and developing new assays.  The Postdoc will be utilizing molecular pharmacology/molecular biology procedures, such as nucleic acid extraction, PCR, RT-PCR, ELISA & RIA-based assays, and capillary electrophoresis, as well as performing experiments utilizing immunological procedures such as immunostaining and Western Blot techniques. The lab is equipped with state-of-the-art technology for ultrasensitive, highly-quantitative measurements of protein expression, subcellular localization, and protein phosphorylation using recently-developed capillary electrophoresis- and microscopy-based methodologies.
 
The ideal candidate will have a PhD degree from a recognized institution and will also have knowledge of protein kinase systems as related to apoptosis, cell proliferation, and cell adhesion/migration biology.  The position will remain open until filled.
